Minutes of January 13–14, 1833
Doctrine and Covenants 84 is considered §. Joseph's letter of January 11 to W. W. Phelps (about the revelation) is approved. The president of the High Priesthood is to preside at Sunday meetings and in his absence, the bishop §. Orson Hyde and Hyrum Smith are assigned to write to the Saints in Zion about it and about "the subject" of letters written by Elders Phelps and Gilbert. On the 14th, the council approves the letter written by Orson and Hyrum §.

Open Sidney rises and states "his object in calling the meeting & opened by prayer."
Revelation of September 22, 23 The first Item that came before the Conference for their consideration was on the subject of the Revelation given 22 & 23 Sept 1832 relative to the saints in Zion— — It was resolved that Bro Orson Hyde & Hyrum Smith be a committee to write an epistle to them <on that subject> and also on the subject of letters writen by Bros Phelps & Gilbert in the name of the conference. D&C 84

W. W. Phelps and Sidney Gilbert had accused Joseph "in rather an indirect way of seeking after monarchial power and authority." HC 1:317–319
Conference endorses letter Joseph Smith wrote to W. W. Phelps on January 11. This refers to the cover letter accompanying the "Olive Leaf" (KRB, 33–46 // D&C 88:1–126 // PWJS, 292–293 .
Sunday: Joseph presides, then the bishop It was also resolved that the President of the High Priesthood should see to the conducting of the meetings on the sabbath days when present, & the Bishop in his absence.
Resolve that members of the conference pray "that the epistles written [6] might have the desired effects" and that Orson and Hyrum will be guided as they write the brethren in Zion.
