Meeting of February 26, 1833
Report on solemn assemblies held throughout Zion. Prepare epistle to be sent to the Saints in Kirtland. Pray for harmony between the Saints in the two locations.
A solemn assembly was called for by the revelation of December 27, 1832 (¶ D&C 88:1–126). "The plan taught at the solemn assembly, … was that the seven High Priests who were sent from Kirtland to build up Zion, viz.—Oliver Cowdery, W. W. Phelps, John Whitmer, Algernon Sidney Gilbert, Bishop Partridge, and his two counselors —should stand at the head of affairs relating to the Church, in that section of the Lord's vineyard; and these seven men, with the common consent of the branches comprising the Church were to appoint presiding Elders, to take the watchcare of the several branches." History of the Church 1:335–336.

Pray for harmony   We then all kneeled before the Lord to effect a perfect harmony between us & our brethren in Kirtland which was the desire of our hearts.   I cannot find a primary source (including MH A-1, 275) for the HC 1:335 statement that the epistle was "satisfactory to the Presidency and Church at Kirtland."
Adjourn for four weeks from to-morrow.
Close   Prayer by Solomon Hancock.
