Minutes of March 3, 1838
Far West high council approves lots in Far West for Sidney, Joseph, and Hyrum to be furnished gratis, the bishop to arrange for the removal of all encumbrances.

Land recipients:   Bishop Partridge presents a proposal drafted February 24 for the high council to furnish lots in Far West, and other property, without charge to Sidney Rigdon, Joseph Smith Jr., and Hyrum Smith as follows:  
Sidney $285   Sidney: Northeast corner of block 6, containing lots 1–6, appraised at $285.
Joseph $455   Joseph: Southeast corner of block 7, containing lots 7–12, appraised at $220. Existing house and "a claim upon one of these lots" that may have to be purchased. Also, Northeast corner of block 7, lots 1 and 4, appraisd at $100, "and betterments cost $135 amounting to $235 (in all)."  
Hyrum $100   Hyrum: Nothwest corner of block 8, containing lots 2 and 3, appraised at $100.  
First quarterly conference set   The Elders Journal also states that at this meeting, "the General Authorities of the Church met to hold the First Quarterly Conference of the Church of Latter Day Saints Zion, at Far West on the 7th of April, 1838." Elders Journal 1 no. 3 (July 1838): 47.
