August 4, 1831* Sidney and Joseph urge obedience. Ziba Peterson confesses.
August 24, 1831 Edward and high priests on second coming, gathering, sacrifice.
October 21, 1831 Emily Coburn and Elizabeth Gilbert complain about Newel Knight's attitude. He defends himself at great length. Elders decide against him, but the sisters are also admonished. Newel not to act as an elder until he is reconciled with the brethren.
January 23, 1832 Importance of the offices of priest, teacher, deacon. Articles and Covenants.
January 23, 24, 27, 1832 Oliver Cowdery letter to Joseph. Nearly 1200 acres purchased for inheritances. Bishop Partridge's financial report. Membership records. Build hotel. Sidney to resolve his differences with Edward directly and amicably. Gilbert & Whitney financial report. Provisions scarce, prices double. Missionary assignments. Ready to print 10,000 copies of Book of Commandments.
March 10, 1832 Conference considers Sidney's written charges against Bishop Edward Partridge and writes Kirtland that Edward has confessed and asked forgiveness for some, others are unjust. Time to put it behind them.
April 26–27, 1832 * High priests acknowledge Joseph as President of the High Priesthood. Edward Partridge extends the right hand of fellowship on behalf of the church in Zion. "All differences" are settled and "the hearts of all run together in love."
April 30, 1832 * Literary Firm (Joseph, Sidney, Oliver, W. W. Phelps, Jesse Gause). Committee to select revelations and make "all necessary verbal corrections" for the Book of Commandments. Print 3,000 copies. Perhaps an almanac. W. W. Phelps to edit hymns selected by Emma.
April 30, 1832* Meeting of the United Firm. Sidney Gilbert and Newel K. Whitney are appointed agents. Newell to borrow $15,000 for the firm.
May 26, 1832 Council of high priests investigates Oliver Cowdery's 1830 proposal to another woman while engaged to Elizabeth Ann Whitmer. Oliver confesses and is forgiven.
May 29, 1832 Edward Partridge dedicates the office of the Evening and Morning Star.
July 3, 1832 Regulate the church according to D&C 68, received the previous November.
July 13, 1832 Special conference divides the church in Zion into four branches (possible first use of the term).
August 24, 1832 Harvey Whitlock asks [unanswered] questions about the Law of Moses.
September 15, 1832 Elders in Zion elect Christian Whitmer to be [quorum] president.
September 27, 1832 Elders at Big Blue settlement read the Laws and Commandments.
October 2, 1832 Ziba Peterson reordained.
October 5, 1832 High priests try to decide whether they, like elders, should meet quarterly.
October 25, 1832 Council meets to obtain wisdom.
December 3, 1832 High priests meet separately from elders, elders or high priests preside over branches, look for prospective missionaries.
December 15, 1832

One surrenders his priesthood license and accepts invitation to withdraw rather than being excommunicated for persisting in "foolish doctrine."

February 26, 1833   Report on solemn assemblies held throughout Zion. Prepare epistle to be sent to the Saints in Kirtland. Pray for harmony between the Saints in the two locations.
March 26, 1833 The order taught at the solemn assemblies is accepted "after much discussion," and the seven high priests sent from Kirtland to preside over the branches in Zion are accepted.
