New York Minutes
April 6, 1830   Organizing meeting. Mistakenly designates Peter Whitmer home (Fayette, New York) as location.   Probably written 1839.
April 11, 1830   Meeting at Peter Whitmer home. Baptisms.   Probably written 1839.
June 9, 1830   First conference of the church. Articles and Covenants are adopted. The Articles and Covenants are an early formulation of D&C 20. Elders, priests, and teachers are ordained.    
September 26, 1830   Joseph is appointed to receive revelations for the church. Church to be the Lord's ensign to the nations. Articles and Covenants of the church are read.
   
May 9–11, 1835   The Twelve hold a conference with two branches on Lake Erie and organize the Westfield Conference. 500 attend. A traveling elder is rebuked for teaching false doctrine. The brethren preach on eternal points and strict obedience, covenants, and the corruption of gentile churches. Several are baptized.    
May 22 –25, 1835   The Twelve meet with the Freedom Conference in Freedom, New York; preach on various subjects; wise men to raise funds for lands in Missouri; members contribute a pittance to the Twelve; Elders Murdock and Lewis to set nearby branches in order; Brigham Young and companions set apart to preach to the Seneca Indians.
