Attica (on S bank of Wabash River) / Fountain
  July 13, 1831 Hyrum Smith, John Murdock Arrive from Lafayette after "the place where Bro Solomon Hancock and Simeon Carter built up a branch. … On the 14th we preached twice; on the 16th one on the 17th (Sunday) twice, and on the 18th and 19th twice. On the 20th we passed through Danville (Vermillion county, Ill), 30 miles southwest of Attica." Murdock autobiography, 24.

Eugene township (includes communities of Cayuga and Eugene in metro Terre Haute) / Vermillion
  Oct. 30–31, 1834 John Murdock Conference of eleven elders, "three of whom presided over three churches": Levi Jones over Eugene (55 members), Charles Rich over Pekin, Illinois (30 members), Moses Harris over Liberty, Park County, Indiana (6 members). Total 91. "Communications," MA 1, no. 1 (Nov. 1834): 35.

Greenville (12 mi. W of New Albany) / Floyd

New Albany (county seat, on the Ohio River opposite Louisville, Kentucky at the Falls of the Ohio) / Floyd
      Founded in 1813. Economy based on shipbuilding (steamships, packet boats) and related industries. Largest city in Indiana by 1850.

Vincennes (county seat, in southwestern Indiana opposite the state of Illinois on the Wabash River ) / Knox
      French fur trading outpost founded in 1732; oldest city in Indiana. On the most direct land route from the Ohio river (at New Albany) to Independence.

Winchester (on Ohio border) / Randolph [Adams]

  Nov. 29–Dec. 1, 1831 Oliver Cowdery, John Whitmer, Thomas B. Marsh (h), Seymour Brunson, Oliver Walker, George Burkett, Henry Jackson Dispute over Acts, Book of Mormon regarding common stock. Jackson apologizes and is re-ordained an elder. Seymour is ordained to the High Priesthood Minutes of November 29–30, 1831
