Doctrine and Covenants 41
February 4, 1831, Kirtland, Ohio.

Lord blesses and curses. Church to gather and agree on the word of the Lord §. Pray to receive laws to govern church. Lord comes quickly. Whoever keeps the law is the Lord's disciple; others to be cast out §. Don't cast pearls before swine. Build a house for Joseph §. Sidney can live wherever he likes §, as he keeps the commandments. Edward Partridge, "in whom there is no guile" §, is called to be bishop.

John Whitmer's J. Whitmer account follows except one minor difference as noted.
MH-A heading: The Lord gave unto the church the following revelation at Kirtland, Ohio, February 4, 1831.

In the original KRB text, written by John Whitmer, Leman Copley proposes Joseph and Sidney live with him in Thompson and he will build houses (plural) for them. This is omitted in all subsequent versions. In John Whitmer's redaction of v. 8, Sidney should have a comfortable Room to live in is replaced by Sidney should live as Seemeth him good. This is omitted in all subsequent versions and inasmuch as he keepeth my commandments is added in D&C.
John Whitmer's redactions of vss. 6, 8 are followed by all subsequent versions.
KRB was written after Oliver Cowdery's redactions and before BC (v. 4).

See v. 4 for indication that KRB was written before BCR was redacted, and that the edited BCR was used in preparing the BC.
